COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY ALSO KNOWN AS microneedling

Microneedling for all skin types and concerns

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING

How it works

Sounds painful? trust me you won't feel a thing as we use an amazing anaesthetic cream beforehand.

Microneedling – is a unique electronic mechanism which allows us to control treatment intensity to best suit your needs. A solution is also applied to the skin, containing hyaluronic acid, minerals, vitamins and peptides, which stimulates cell proliferation and so reduces the skin’s contours and improves elasticity. The Microneedling treatment is targeted and ideal for clients who have localised areas of concern.

Scars and discolorations can make you self conscious about your skin. Here, I’ll review some acne scar treatments that can drastically reduce their appearance. Even though some acne scars are permanent, with proper treatments, some may go away over time.

First, let’s briefly review atrophic scars- that is indented scars that form when skin isn’t able to stimulate tissue or collagen, as when pimples or breakouts damage tissue beneath it.

Let’s discuss some acne scar treatments we perform here at our London clinic.  I’ll begin with my favorite- microneedling: multiple sessions of microneedling have shown to be efficacious for treatment of acne scars. The microneedling  device rapidly puncture skin to create controlled injury, which triggers the body’s healing process. Microneedling for scars is painless, as numbing cream is applied on skin before treatment is started.

Causes of melasma include sun, ultraviolet exposure, pregnancy, oral contraceptives, and certain drugs.

Clinically, melasma is characterized by irregularly shaped hyperpigmented areas of a beige or brown colour. These areas usually occur on areas of the face exposed to sun, for example, the upper lip, cheeks, and forehead.

Therapy for melasma consist of topical application of hypopigmenting agents. These agents include hydroquinone, retinoic acid and azelaic acid. Laser resurfacing has been used in the past, but side effects include persistent erythema, hypo / hyper pigmentation, and hypertrophic scarring. Dermal needling (or fractional dermabrasion) when used with topical depigmenting serum has been shown to significantly improve appearance

Like most treatments, it’s important to wear sunscreen to protect your skin.

Hair transplants are not the only answer.   Microneedling non-surgical regrowth treatments is a great option.  Results will be seen 4-6 months.
